Mariah Schmeling Head Coach

Hi Gators! My name is Mariah Schmeling and I am so excited to be returning to the Gators coaching staff this summer as Head Coach! I just finished my freshman year at the University of Missouri and have been a gator since I was about 4 years old. I have loved being a part of such a wonderful team each year. I grew up both club and summer swimming and was a part of the girls varsity swim team and dive team at Arapahoe High School in addition to 10 years of club gymnastics and the Heritage/LPS Gymnastics team where I was Captain. I believe swim team is the perfect way to make new friends, burn off some morning energy, and stay active during the summer, and I will do my very best to help your swimmers gain confidence in and out of the pool. Whether your gator is new and just trying to make it across the pool or competes year-round, I want everyone to be excited to jump into the pool each morning with a smile on their face!

I am truly looking forward to our season this summer full of fun, successes, and new faces! Having worked with every age group over the past four seasons from 6&unders to 9-10s, I can’t wait to take on this new role and want to focus on team engagement and community.

I love doing private lessons for swimmers of all abilities and goals throughout the season too!

Berkeley McKinnon Assistant Head Coach

Gators!! I could not be more excited to return for my fifth year of coaching, and this year as an assistant head coach and your 9-10 head coach! Since I moved into this neighborhood at age 6, I have swam for the gators and love participating in this wonderful program. I just finished my freshman year at Brigham Young University where I hope to study accounting. I grew up playing every sport you can think of but stuck with tennis and field hockey in high school where I was Captain. Even though I didn't swim in high school, coaching swimming has always been one of my passions! I have worked a lot with pre-team and 6&unders in the past, and it brings me so much joy to help every kid reach their potential and earn their gator. This year, I am excited to help the 9-10s develop their skills and become the swimmer I know they can be! Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns, or if you want any private lessons!

Hello Gator Families! My name is Danika Thompson and I am so excited to be returning for my fifth year of being a Gator coach! I'm thrilled to be one of your assistant head coaches this year as well as taking care of the lovely 11/12 age group! I just finished my freshman year at Colorado State University and have been a gator since I was 5 years old. I competitively swam for both club teams growing up as well as being on the Heritage High School girls varsity swim team. Swim team to me has always been such a fun community to build upon new and old friendships within the neighborhood. I believe that every swimmer has a talent and I can't wait to help your kiddos find or develop theirs. Whether you are a returning Gator or a new one I cannot wait to coach each and every one of you! I love to be able to get in the water and do one on one private lessons with any gators of any ability to be able to give them that extra push throughout the season!

Kate Loving Age Group Lead Coach

Hey Gators!! I am beyond excited to be returning for my third year as a coach and cannot wait to get started! I am graduating from Littleton High School this year where I have participated on the varsity swim team and in the marching band for all four years. Next year, I plan to attend the University of Missouri and to keep swimming for the club team! Swimming has always been one of the most important parts of my life as I have been club swimming for 11 years and been on the HG Gators swim team for 14 years. The water has always been my home, and this year as a coach, I hope to share that love and passion for swimming with all of the kids I coach. I hope to teach kids in fun and engaging ways as they expand their swimming abilities while also expressing the hugely positive impact that sportsmanship and being a good teammate has on this team. This community has given me so much and it means the world to me to be able to give back in this way. I can't wait to see you all again and meet some new faces!! GOOOO GATORS!!!!

Anabel Hanna Age Group Lead

Hey Gators! My name is Anabel Hanna and this is my 3rd year as a coach and could not be happier to be back this year! I have been apart of the Gator community for 14 years and have been a swimmer since age 4 and swam club for the past seven years! This summer my goal is to help introduce young swimmers to the sport of swimming and help them develop a lifelong love of swimming. I also want to help all swimmers on improving their times and strokes. My coaching philosophy is centered around a fun and engaging environment that encourages children to grow in the sport of swimming but also have fun with their friends. My number one goal is to create a safe and supportive community where each child feels comfortable and confident. There is a lot that goes into the sport of swimming besides the technique and I strive to teach swimmers the value of sportsmanship and teamwork. I love being a Gator and I have always loved the special bonds between the coaches and the swimmers. I believe that the lessons of summer swim team are some of the most valuable lessons in life and I believe in instilling that into all swimmers! I hope to share some of the great experiences and friendships that I have had as gator into new generations and to spread the spirit of the Heritage Greens Swim Team! I look forward to a great season!

Hello Gators! My name is Cecelie Franklin and this year is my first year as a Junior Coach for our swim team! I am currently 14 years old and I have been swimming for the Gators since I was 4. I just finished my freshman year at Arapahoe High School, where I had the opportunity to play for the Junior Varsity Volleyball Team and swim for the Varsity Swim Team. I am incredibly excited for this summer swim season and I hope to be the role model for the Gators that I had when I was little. I can’t wait to see new friendships form and new best times earned!
